Martin has played bass guitar in English country dance bands all his adult life.He formed Stömp with Sheena Masson in 1994, taking on Scandinavian and jazz and rock influences, as well as developing traditional English folk forms. Over the last decade, as a sound engineer for BBC Radio 3, Martin has collected folk and dance music from all over the world. Since 2000 he has balanced live music for the BBC coverage of the Womad Festival, and world music performances from the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Recent professional accolades as a sound engineer have included the Sony Awards, the Campaign for Racial Equality Awards, and a Prix Italia for innovative sound design.World music inevitably informs his approach to his the bass, and his love of traditional music continues to sustain his career as both engineer and musician.Martin continues to divide his time between live music performance and BBC Radio 3, and will do so until the money runs out.

Adam has made eclecticism into an art form. His musical life started around age 9, playing English light music in the North Curry Shandy Band, founded and conducted by his Dad. As his teenage years got going, his love of  heavy metal came into its own (his own little Golden Age of Leather).  Then he hit 15 and discovered morris dancing and there was no looking  back. He's still in love with avant garde classical music, with psychedelia, with experimental free  improvisation and with heavy rock - but give him a Telecaster and a  step-hop rhythm and he's in heaven...
As well as playing guitar, Adam’s skills extend to percussion, tuned  percussion, bowed saw and phonofiddle. To see what else he gets up to,  take a look at:

Andrew learned guitar by playing along with his sister’s blues records, ‘til her Fairport albums sent him in search of his local folk club. Switching to bass he formed Truss & Bucket Band, playing ceilidhs. He’s also played blues, Cajun, African pop, acoustic folk and country dance music with all sorts of bands. Andrew formed and played bass with Fiddlin’ Around, widely regarded as one of the best contra dance bands in the UK, until their break up at the end of 2007. He collaborates as musician & producer with singer/songwriter Martyna. Andrew joined Stömp in 2003 and happily indulges in some front-of-stage posing. It's different when you're in your 40s.
